An Estimator provides cost estimates for a project, based on an evaluation of the materials, labor, time and equipment needed to complete the project. May specialize in many aspects of construction or in manufacturing and design industries.
Finance Coordinator / Estimator StarCom Fiber is seeking an experienced telecommunications Finance Coordinator / Estimator to support our construction projects. This position reports directly to the CFO and Directors and will focus primarily on preparing accurate estimates from fiber-optic designs, construction drawings, scopes of work, and client rate cards.
Responsibilities include:
Review fiber designs, construction drawings, and project scopes. Prepare estimates for labor, materials, equipment, splicing, testing, construction, and project management. Confirm quantities and pricing align with client rate cards and contract requirements. Work with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to resolve missing or unclear information. Revise estimates when designs or project scopes change. Identify additional work and assist with change-order pricing. Track estimates, approvals, purchase orders, and supporting documentation. Assist the CFO and Directors with invoicing, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Telecommunications, fiber construction, estimating, or finance experience preferred. Ability to read telecommunications designs is preferred; training may be provided.
