Construction Estimator

Duties Develop comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis to determine accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project scope, schedule, and budget requirements. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while ensuring quality standards are met. Prepare bid proposals that clearly outline project costs, timelines, and potential risks. Monitor ongoing projects for cost control and provide updates on budget status throughout the construction process. Review contracts, change orders, and project documentation to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications. Skills Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors. Solid understanding of construction management principles, including cost control and project scheduling. Hands-on construction site experience to accurately assess field conditions influencing estimates. Knowledge of contracts, bidding procedures, and legal aspects related to construction projects. Excellent project management skills to coordinate multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Effective communication abilities for collaborating with diverse teams including clients, architects, suppliers, and field personnel.
