About The Role As an Estimator at United Utility, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the nation's electrical grid. Your work will directly impact our business, as you'll be instrumental in shaping project proposals, determining cost estimates, and ultimately driving the success of our initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the heart of the electric utility industry, with room for growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for electrical utility projects. Analyze project requirements, engineering drawings, and specifications to develop detailed cost breakdowns. Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and quality. Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving measures and risk factors. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to present and defend cost estimates. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure our estimates align with best practices. Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating within the electric utility industry. Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy. Key Nice-To-Haves Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional, Certified Professional Estimator). Graduate degree in a related field. Key Info While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
