Job Description

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading the preparation of budgets and cost estimates for all projects. This role manages the entire estimating lifecycle for both bids and awarded work, while implementing the processes, tools, and training to promote consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across the estimating function.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare contracts, change orders, and budget proposal estimates for large scale plumbing projects and related plumbing systems
  • Identify risk issues and evaluate the potential related cost impacts
  • Computes cost factors and prepare initial estimates based on early-stage information
  • Analyze construction drawings and documents to determine the scope of work in advance of project proposals and bids
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and other relevant parties to discuss estimates and pricing as well as resolve open questions
  • Attend meetings and participate in discussions related to in-progress job meetings (when required) as well as final settlement and the buy-out of projects
  • Review the design options and recommend solutions based on cost, engineering quality or availability of materials
  • Conduct project reviews and visit job sites when needed
REQUIREMENTS
  • 10+ years of experience as an Estimator in a related industry
  • Field experience is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage the completion of projects
  • Plumbing license is preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Required to kneel, bend, reach, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds
