About Us:
Yellow Factory USA is a growing architectural millwork and finishing shop based in Maspeth, Queens. We specialize in high-quality custom millwork for residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors, partnering closely with designers, architects, and general contractors. Our shop focuses on precision, repeatable quality, and efficient production—combining skilled craftsmanship with modern CNC and finishing capabilities. We are seeking an experienced Millwork Estimator to support our expanding project pipeline and help translate design intent into accurate, competitive, and profitable bids.Position Overview:
The Millwork Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for custom millwork and finishing projects, from schematic design through construction documents. This role requires strong technical understanding of millwork fabrication, materials, finishes, and shop processes, as well as the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications. This is a collaborative role working closely with sales, production, and operationsKey Responsibilities:
Review architectural drawings, specifications, and schedules to develop accurate millwork takeoffs Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, finishes, hardware, subcontracted services, and installation (if applicable) Analyze scope, identify gaps or conflicts in drawings, and flag risks or assumptions Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Develop value engineering options and alternates when needed Maintain estimating templates, pricing databases, and historical cost data Collaborate with operations and production to ensure estimates align with shop capabilities and workflows Support contract negotiations and scope clarifications with clients and general contractors Assist with handoff from estimating to production once projects are awardedQualifications:
4+ years of experience estimating custom millwork or high-end architectural woodworking Strong understanding of millwork construction, materials, hardware, and finishing systems Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Proficiency with Excel (required); experience with estimating software is a plus Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Preferred experience with CNC-based fabrication workflows Preferred experience with specialty finishes Preferred experience working directly with designers, architects, andGCs Benefits:
Annual Salary:
