Junior Estimator Junior Estimator:

Exterior Restoration Queens, $65,000-$90,000 salary + benefits+ 401k An established New York City contractor is looking to hire a Junior Estimator for its growing Exterior Restoration division. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious early-career estimator who already has some exposure to façade restoration, roofing, waterproofing, masonry, or general construction and wants to develop under an experienced estimating and project management team. You will support the preparation of bids for exterior restoration projects throughout New York City, learning how to evaluate drawings, conduct takeoffs, review site conditions, obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing, and build accurate project estimates. Responsibilities Review architectural drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project scopes Complete quantity takeoffs for exterior restoration projects Assist with pricing materials, labor, equipment, access, and subcontractor packages Attend pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs Identify scope gaps, drawing discrepancies, and potential access or logistical challenges Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations Prepare bid spreadsheets, proposals, and supporting documentation Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and field personnel Ideal Background Approximately 6-18 months of construction estimating experience Exposure to façade restoration, masonry, roofing, waterproofing, concrete repair, or related exterior work is strongly preferred Candidates from a general contractor with restoration project experience will also be considered Comfortable reading architectural and construction drawings Some experience completing quantity takeoffs and reviewing project specifications Knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel is preferred Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline is beneficial but not essential Previous field, trade, or hands-on construction experience would be highly valued Organized, detail-oriented, curious, and eager to build a long-term career in estimating The Opportunity You will join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of exterior restoration work across New York City. The company offers hands-on training, direct exposure to experienced construction professionals, and a genuine opportunity to progress into a fully capable Estimator and eventually manage bids independently.
