Electrical Estimator West Babylon, New York Join a Growing Electrical Contractor A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its Preconstruction Department. The company performs complex commercial, institutional, infrastructure, healthcare, aviation, and public-sector electrical projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. Primary Responsibilities Prepare complete and accurate electrical estimates for commercial, institutional, infrastructure, and public agency projects. Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs. Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Prepare competitive bids, negotiated proposals, conceptual budgets, and change order pricing. Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives. Attend pre-bid meetings and project site visits. Coordinate with Project Management to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to construction. Maintain historical pricing databases and estimating standards. Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of electrical estimating experience. Strong knowledge of commercial and institutional electrical construction. Experience estimating projects ranging from $250,000 to $20+ million. Ability to interpret electrical plans, specifications, and contract documents. Experience with Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam, or comparable estimating software. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience estimating projects for public agencies, municipalities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, aviation, or other large commercial clients. Design-Build and negotiated project experience. Knowledge of prevailing wage and union labor agreements.
