Construction Estimator

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for facade restoration, masonry restoration, waterproofing, and related exterior restoration projects. This role is critical to helping our company secure profitable work and maintain strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare complete and accurate estimates Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scope Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing Prepare detailed proposals, budgets, and bid packages Analyze project risks, site logistics, and scheduling impacts on cost Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs as needed Coordinate with project managers, operations staff, and senior leadership during the bidding process Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing, and bid results Assist with change order pricing and cost analysis when required Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably in facade restoration, masonry, waterproofing, concrete repair, or building envelope restoration Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing competitive bids Required experience with PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar digital estimating/takeoff software Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and related general MS software AutoCAD proficiency is very important Knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and market pricing Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits if needed Preferred Qualifications Experience in exterior restoration, historic restoration, or building envelope work Familiarity with DOB/permit-related renovation work and occupied building conditions Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Bonus opportunities Paid time off and holidays Why Join Us Metropolitan is a leading General Contractor specializing in facade and exterior restoration work since 1984. $67,480.40 - $81,266.72 per year
