Prepare comprehensive HVAC estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs while ensuring alignment with project scope. Manage the bidding process by soliciting and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing. Conduct thorough cost analysis and control to ensure estimates stay within budget parameters while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and design teams to communicate bid strategies and clarify project details. Review construction contracts, manage project budgets, and oversee cost management throughout the project lifecycle. Lead blueprint reading sessions, interpret technical drawings, and estimate material requirements from blueprints using Bluebeam and spreadsheets. Track estimating data in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid, ensuring accuracy for future reference and reporting. Support project management efforts by providing accurate estimates that facilitate effective scheduling and resource allocation. Requirements Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the HVAC or broader commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software including HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and estimating material requirements from blueprints. Demonstrated ability in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms. Solid understanding of construction management software systems for cost control and project tracking. Experience with estimating construction project budgets for commercial HVAC installations or similar projects.
