We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to oversee marine construction projects and prepare accurate project cost estimates. The Construction Estimator role requires strong project management and analytical skills to ensure construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards to quality.Role Responsibilities:
Project Cost Estimation:
o Review project blueprints, specifications and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates and project take offs o Schedule and conduct site visits o Analyze labor, materials and equipment requirements to determine project costs o Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality o Prepare detailed quotes within QuickBooks to provide to customersProject Management:
o Facilitate the end-to-end execution of construction projects, from initial quote through to project completion, working closely with the on-site foreman o Manage project schedules, budgets and resources to ensure efficiency o Ensure on-site foremen have the necessary resources to complete construction projects on time and within budget o Manage project budgets within QuickBooks to ensure all material and labor costs are tracked properlyCollaboration:
o Work closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors and customers to ensure project alignment o Negotiate contracts and agreements with material suppliers, vendors and subcontractorsReporting :
o Prepare and present project progress reports to stakeholders, including budgets and schedules o Monitor and track expenses, providing regular updates on financial performance of construction projectsQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction management and/or cost estimation
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, and strong business acumen.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in construction management (ie.
CCM, PMP
) or related field- Familiarity with QuickBooks budgeting process.
