We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator with strong hard bid experience to join our tight-knit, growing team in Columbus.
Position Summary:
The Commercial Estimator will manage, prepare, and execute complete cost estimates for a Diverse and Public commercial construction projects. This role requires a professional who thrives on diversity in project @types and possesses deep expertise in the lump-sum hard bid process. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, and vendor proposals to deliver highly accurate, competitive bids that secure successful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the prepar ation of complete cost estimates, budget estimates, and hard bids for diverse commercial construction projects. Review and analyze project blueprints, specifications, engineering drawings, and tender documents. Quantify take-offs for all labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes. Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and internal project management teams.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator. Degree is preferred but not required Demonstrated success and deep familiarity with the hard bid (lump-sum) delivery method. Proven track record estimating a diverse range of commercial project @types (e.g., corporate offices, institutional, municipal, retail, or industrial). Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
