Overland Corporation is currently seeking an experienced Estimator. The Estimator will analyze plans and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates in accordance with current company policy and procedures.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Quantify project components assigned by the leading estimator.
- Visit the project to understand site conditions/restrictions.
- Work with the estimating team bidding on the project to build the estimate, then assign items in HCSS Heavy bid.
- Review plans, specifications & contract documents.
- Provide accurate take-off
- Work on preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the plans and specifications.
- Contact subcontractors, suppliers, vendors and specialty services for quotes.
- Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontractors, productivity analysis reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as an estimator working on all aspects of large heavy/highway construction.
- Projects (Structures, Bridges, Underground, Earthwork, Asphalt & Concrete Paving).
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills, detail oriented.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- HCSS Heavy Bid and Primavera P6 experience.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
- Previous field operations are preferred.
