In this energetic and detail-oriented position, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing comprehensive estimates, and collaborating closely with clients, subcontractors, and project managers. Your expertise will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities Prepare detailed HVAC estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate pricing strategies that align with project goals. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, equipment, and other HVAC components to determine material and labor costs. Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive rates while maintaining quality standards. Review construction drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks related to HVAC systems. Assist in cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets and managing change orders effectively. Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, contracts, and project documentation ensuring transparency and accuracy. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on HVAC systems; familiarity with Bluebeam software is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, cost control techniques, and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Hands-on experience with construction site activities and understanding of construction management processes. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors. Proficiency in using HeavyBid or similar estimating tools for accurate project cost analysis. Solid understanding of contracts, project management practices, and construction safety standards. Effective communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across various phases of project development. Ability to work both in office and field environments, including sitting for extended periods of 5-8 hours per day in a jobsite trailer while performing administrative, scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination duties. Must also be able to walk and navigate active construction sites for extended periods, including uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and confined spaces, while working in varying weather conditions. Requires the ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and occasionally lift or carry up to 25-50 pounds. Must be able to wear required PPE, perform detailed visual inspections, communicate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, and respond quickly to changing project conditions and jobsite emergencies.
