We have established ourselves as a market leader in the region by delivering complex, demanding projects with the quality and production that our clients rely on. We specialize in delivering comprehensive construction solutions throughadvanced project delivery methods, including Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), and Design-Build. Our primary focus is Oregon with Hard-Bid Public Works projects, with some expansion across the Western States. We serve public agencies, municipalities, and private clients, delivering complex infrastructure from conception to completion. Our work is organized across two specialized divisions:
Bridge & Structures Division:
Bridge construction, heavy structural concrete, fish ladders, box culverts, pile driving, and retaining walls.
Civil Division:
Earthwork and excavation, underground utilities, flatwork concrete, ADA ramp improvements, and slipform curb and gutter. Job Overview We are looking for a problem-solving and detail-oriented Estimator to help grow our business. This job will play a critical role in increasing the volume of estimates and provide a pathway to our next level of development. The Estimator will be working on multiple bids at the same time, ensuring thorough completion and on-time submissions to win the projects. This position will also help to free up our Executives to focus on higher-level company activities and capture additional sales opportunities. Responsibilities Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for excavation, grading, utilities, roadwork, bridge, structural concrete, and civil infrastructure projects Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing using HCSS HeavyBid estimating software Review plans and specifications; conduct thorough risk analysis on each project Develop pre-bid RFIs to identify plan issues and reduce exposure Determine subcontractor scopes and solicit competitive sub/vendor pricing via RFP Manage multiple concurrent bids and ensure on-time, complete submissions Participate in weekly bid review meetings with Executives for technical support, risk assessment, and final approval Use historical project data to build competitive, defensible estimates Support field operations with change order pricing and budget revisions as needed Visit project sites to gain visual context for estimating and risk understanding Qualifications 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, excavation, or bridge/structural construction Strong understanding of earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, and civil construction methods Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid or comparable estimating software Proven ability to manage multiple bids and competing deadlines without dropping the ball Knowledge of public works bidding processes and ODOT / municipal standards (preferred) Experience working in Central Oregon or similar high-desert, mountainous terrain (preferred) Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred) Field experience in excavation or civil construction — you understand what you're estimating Our Culture We take our culture seriously.
