Company Description Goodhart Sons, Inc. is a fourth-generation family-owned company based in Lancaster, PA, specializing in high-quality fabrication, rigging, and equipment installation services. Since its founding in 1935, the company has built a strong reputation for serving clients across various sectors, including power generation, alternative energy, and pollution control markets. Goodhart Sons, Inc. collaborates with leading manufacturing, OEM, and contracting organizations. Role Description The Estimator is primarily responsibility for preparing and finalizing fabrication estimates based on client request for quotes. Estimates are to be prepared in a timely and accurate manner. Qualifications Read and interpret client drawings, weld symbols, machining symbols, tolerances, specifications and calculate costs. Take-off material from drawings. Secure pricing for all material required with the best possible yield and lowest scrap. Determine and solicit estimates on subcontracted services needed for the estimate. Determine man-hours needed to complete work based on developing a knowledge of company capabilities and past fabrication knowledge. Personally deal with clients, vendors, subcontractors, engineers, and suppliers in person, over the phone and e-mail while maintaining the best possible working relationship between GSI and our clients, vendor, and suppliers. Prepare written quote stipulations based on any assumptions made or exclusions taken. Be able to break down large detailing projects into manageable phases.
