Electrical Estimator

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical cost estimates for a variety of projects, from initial bid proposals to detailed project budgets. Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive electrical estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements, ensuring accurate pricing and risk assessment. Prepare detailed cost estimates that include labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and overhead costs aligned with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and analyze bid documents to identify potential risks or scope gaps early in the process. Assist in the development of bid proposals, contracts, and change order pricing to support project profitability and client satisfaction. Monitor project costs during execution to support cost control efforts and ensure projects stay within budget. Skills Extensive experience with construction estimating software such as HeavyBid; proficiency in Bluebeam for plan review and markup. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC standards, and construction practices related to electrical installations. Proven ability in negotiation with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms. Solid understanding of construction management principles, including contracts, project management processes, and site operations. Excellent skills in cost control, pricing strategies, and financial analysis within the construction industry. Hands-on electrical experience combined with construction site exposure enhances accuracy in estimating complex projects. Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates confidently.
