Established contractor who values their employees Ability to grow your career with a company that values their employees About Our Client Our client is a well-established, privately held construction and infrastructure organization with a decades-long history of delivering complex heavy civil, site development, transportation, and utility projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Job Description Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects ranging from $1M to $100M+. Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents. Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing strategies. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Collaborate with operations, project management, and executive leadership during bid development. Analyze project risks and identify value engineering opportunities. Prepare bid proposals, schedules, and supporting documentation. Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client presentations as needed. Track market trends, labor rates, material costs, and production factors. Support project handoff meetings upon successful award. The Successful Applicant Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, infrastructure, sitework, earthwork, utilities, roadway, paving, or related disciplines. Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience reviewing engineered drawings and specifications. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience DOT, municipal, utility, roadway, site development, or infrastructure project estimating experience. Knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar estimating tools. Experience with public sector bidding and procurement processes. Familiarity with self-perform construction operations. What's on
