•55 per hour, depending on experience; per-project compensation may also be considered A1 Power, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator who can manage electrical bids from initial document review through a complete, customer-ready proposal. This is not a takeoff-only position. We are looking for someone who can independently review bid documents, understand the complete electrical scope, perform accurate takeoffs, develop labor and material pricing, obtain vendor/subcontractor pricing when needed, identify scope gaps, and prepare a professional proposal that is ready for A1 Power's final review and submission. Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, addenda, bid documents, and project requirements Perform complete electrical takeoffs Estimate labor hours, crew requirements, materials, equipment, rentals, and subcontractor costs Obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing when necessary Identify scope gaps and potential project risks Develop complete project pricing and apply established company markups Prepare complete customer-ready proposals including: Scope of work Pricing Clarifications Exclusions Alternates Allowances Qualifications and assumptions Review addenda and revise estimates and proposals as required Maintain organized estimating files and supporting documentation Communicate questions or concerns before making significant assumptions Meet bid deadlines with minimal supervision Qualifications 3+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience preferred Strong commercial electrical construction knowledge Ability to independently read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications Experience preparing complete electrical proposals, not just material takeoffs Strong understanding of labor productivity and material, equipment, rental, and subcontractor costs Ability to manage an estimate from initial bid documents through completed proposal Strong attention to detail Good written communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Experience with the following is a plus: Commercial tenant improvements Electrical service and distribution Lighting and lighting controls EV charging systems Generator projects Government/public-sector projects Commercial service work What We're Looking For The ideal estimator can receive a set of bid documents and take the project from start to finish: Review and understand the project Determine A1 Power's complete electrical scope Perform the takeoff Develop labor and material pricing Include equipment, rentals, and subcontractor costs Identify exclusions, clarifications, assumptions, and risks Build a professional proposal Deliver it by the required bid deadline The goal is for the completed estimate and proposal to be approximately 90-95% ready for submission, requiring only A1 Power's final review and pricing approval. Schedule Flexible and based on current bidding workload. This position will begin on a part-time/contract basis with the opportunity for increased workload as A1 Power continues to grow.
