Summary As an estimator, you will be part of the team responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for all Freeman Lines of Business. This role requires experience in pricing exhibits and events, an understanding of the branch production processes, excellent communication skills, and the willingness to adapt to change in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. This position will support our Event & Event Services team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations:
Orlando, FL Atlanta, GA Las Vegas, NV Nashville, TN Dallas, TX Essential Duties & Responsibilities Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for event and exhibit production projects, including materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.
Project Analysis:
Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
Vendor Coordination:
Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality, when necessary.
Budget Management:
When assigned, assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring estimates align with client expectations and company profitability goals.
Risk Assessment:
Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and incorporate contingency plans into estimates.
Client Interaction:
Collaborate with growth teams to understand client needs and provide accurate and timely estimates.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of estimates, including assumptions, methodologies, and supporting data.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and production techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency of estimates. Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions. Complete required safety training and consistently apply safe work practices. Immediately report any workplace accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions to a manager or through an appropriate reporting channel. Participate in safety discussions and communicate concerns or feedback openly to help maintain a safe work environment. Properly use tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries and incidents. Education & Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in the event and exhibits production industry. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements. Ability to follow safety rules and contribute to a positive safety culture.
