Chief Estimator Opa Locka, FL Full-TimeOn-Site$170,000 - $200,000 /yr Posted May 22, 2026 We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Estimator to lead all estimating functions across a growing construction operation. This individual will be responsible for overseeing preconstruction efforts, developing competitive and accurate pricing strategies, and building and managing a high-performing estimating team. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the estimating department, including senior estimators and support staff Oversee all preconstruction activities from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission Develop accurate cost estimates for a wide range of projects (commercial, healthcare, industrial, or multifamily) Drive value engineering and cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and scope integrity Review plans, specifications, and proposals to ensure complete and competitive pricing Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners Collaborate with executive leadership, project management, and business development teams Analyze market trends, labor conditions, and material pricing to inform estimating strategies Participate in client presentations, interviews, and proposal development Implement best practices, processes, and tools to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency Qualifications 10-15+ years of construction estimating experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Proven track record leading estimates for large-scale, complex projects Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers Experience with a variety of project types (healthcare experience strongly preferred) Exceptional leadership and team development skills High level of financial and analytical acumen Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar) Strong communication and negotiation skills Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred What We Offer Competitive base salary + executive-level bonus structure Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision) 401(k) with company match Vehicle allowance or company vehicle Paid time off and holidays Opportunity to shape and lead the estimating function within a growing organization High-visibility role with direct impact on company strategy and project pipeline Benefits Vacation/PTO Medical Dental Vision 401k Bonus Relocation Telecommute For this position you must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
