Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join our team. The Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects, including site development, grading, utilities, roadway, excavation, concrete, and infrastructure work. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Key Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, proposals, and other project documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates. Analyze drawings and specifications to identify project scope and requirements. Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, drainage, and related civil construction activities. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Prepare detailed bid proposals and cost breakdowns. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required. Collaborate with project managers and field personnel during project handoff and execution. Maintain current knowledge of labor rates, material pricing, equipment costs, and market conditions. Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives. Assist in developing project schedules and risk assessments. Ensure estimates comply with company standards and client requirements. Maintain organized estimating files and bid records. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil construction estimating. Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment. Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK, or similar platforms. Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and contracts. Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Preferred Skills Experience with DOT, municipal, commercial, or private development projects. Knowledge of local subcontractor and supplier markets. Familiarity with scheduling software and project management systems. OSHA safety knowledge and construction best practices. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Occasional travel to job sites and pre-bid meetings. Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
