In person / hybrid may be considered for the right candidate Job Description Finishing Touch Plus Florida, a DBA of Finishing Touch Plus, is seeking an experienced Commercial Painting Estimator to join our estimating and preconstruction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience estimating commercial painting, coatings, wallcovering, and related Division 09 scopes. This position requires strong plan-reading skills, accurate quantity takeoffs, and experience using estimating and takeoff software, specifically STACK or On-Screen Takeoff / OST , Quick Bid , and Bluebeam . We've been a leading commercial painting contractor for 20 years. We just recently entered the Tampa Bay area and surrounding Florida markets. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who understands commercial construction, can work independently, and is comfortable preparing competitive, accurate bids for general contractors, construction managers, developers, and owners. Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, finish schedules, elevations, addenda, and bid documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial painting and related finish scopes. Use STACK or On-Screen Takeoff / OST to perform digital takeoffs. Use Quick Bid to prepare detailed labor, material, and production-based estimates. Use Bluebeam for plan review, measurements, markups, and bid documentation. Estimate interior and exterior painting, coatings, wallcovering, doors, frames, exposed deck, specialty coatings, and related scopes. Review project requirements including surface preparation, number of coats, access, heights, phasing, schedule, and site conditions. Prepare bid proposals, scope sheets, alternates, clarifications, exclusions, and qualifications. Communicate with general contractors, vendors, suppliers, project managers, and internal team members. Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor pricing when needed. Track bid invitations, deadlines, addenda, and submitted proposals. Assist with project handoff from estimating to operations after award. Maintain organized estimating records, takeoff files, proposal documents, and bid history. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in commercial painting, coatings, drywall, interiors, Division 09, or related commercial construction scopes. Experience performing digital takeoffs using STACK or On-Screen Takeoff / OST . Experience using Quick Bid for estimating. Experience using Bluebeam Revu for plan review, markups, and measurements. Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, finish schedules, specifications, and addenda. Understanding of commercial painting production rates, labor factors, materials, surface preparation, and coating systems. Ability to prepare accurate, organized, and competitive estimates. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet bid deadlines. Good communication skills with general contractors, vendors, and internal team members. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and general computer systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience estimating large commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, hospitality, government, or industrial projects. Familiarity with PlanHub, BuildingConnected, iSqFt, ConstructConnect, or similar bid platforms. Experience estimating wallcovering, waterproof coatings, elastomeric coatings, epoxy coatings, exposed deck, and specialty finishes. Existing relationships with Tampa Bay area general contractors and vendors. Field experience in commercial painting or project management experience is a plus.
