Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the bidding process by accurately estimating project costs, analyzing contracts, and ensuring effective cost control throughout the construction process. This position requires strong project management skills and a deep understanding of construction practices. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead. Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate pricing and contract compliance. Utilize software tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam for estimating and project management tasks. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to maintain budgetary control. Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate prices. Prepare reports detailing estimated costs versus actual expenditures for review. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and cost control. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and technical specifications. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members, clients, and subcontractors. A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
