In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and contractors to ensure competitive pricing and successful project delivery. Your expertise will help us optimize project budgets, manage costs effectively, and uphold high standards of quality and safety throughout the construction process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex electrical projects across diverse sectors while honing your skills in estimation, negotiation, and project management. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive electrical cost estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software such as Planswift and TurboBid. Analyze project scope, materials, labor requirements, and equipment needs to produce precise pricing proposals. Collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to negotiate costs and secure competitive bids while maintaining profitability. Prepare detailed bid packages that include labor hours, material quantities, subcontractor quotes, and contingency allowances aligned with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Assist in contract review and support contract negotiations to ensure clear scope definition and risk mitigation. Monitor project budgets during execution to control costs through effective change order management and proactive cost control strategies. Coordinate with construction management teams on-site to gather insights on construction site conditions that impact estimating accuracy. Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, change orders, and related documentation for transparency and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems; familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC is essential. Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management practices, and contract administration within the construction industry. Proficiency in estimating software including HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam for plan review is highly desirable. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing while fostering positive relationships with vendors and clients. Solid understanding of electrical systems design, materials, labor practices, and safety standards applicable on construction sites. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation accurately. Effective project management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments.
