Remote Key Responsibilities
  • Develop low voltage electrical estimates for data center fit-out scopes (structured cabling, pathways, racks, containment, and associated systems)
  • Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and translate them into detailed labor hour build-ups, productivity assumptions, and fully developed cost estimates
  • Build parametric and conceptual cost models using limited inputs, including unit-based approaches (e.g., $/rack, $/MW, $/LF, $/port)
  • Develop estimate line items, assumptions, and cost build-ups to support Class 4 and Class 5 estimates within a P70 contingency range
  • Operate effectively in early-stage or incomplete design environments, developing estimates from minimal information Commercial & Contractor Engagement
  • Review, level, and analyze and subcontractor bids/proposals
  • Develop and defend should-cost positions using internal models and benchmarks
  • Challenge labor assumptions, productivity rates, and markups
  • Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and inefficiencies in contractor pricing
  • Support or lead commercial negotiations to drive competitive and transparent outcomes Ways of Working (Critical)
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Able to identify missing information, chase down inputs, and progress work independently
  • Takes ownership of estimates from start to finish, including assumption validation and stakeholder coordination

  • 5 10+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on low voltage systems
  • Proven experience in data center or mission-critical fit-out projects
  • Strong capability in BOM-based estimating and labor build-ups, parametric modeling with limited design input, and negotiating with contractors and subcontractors
  • Solid understanding of low voltage installation methods, labor productivity, contractor pricing structures, and market dynamics
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel-based cost modeling
