Job Description
Position Summary Comfort Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced Controls Sales Engineer / Estimator to join our growing Building Automation & Controls department. This position is responsible for developing customer relationships, estimating projects, preparing proposals, and helping grow our commercial controls business. The ideal candidate has experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), understands HVAC controls, and can confidently communicate with owners, contractors, engineers, and facility managers. Responsibilities Meet with customers to evaluate controls projects and service opportunities. Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for new construction, retrofit, and service work. Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation. Perform equipment takeoffs and material selections. Coordinate with project managers, programmers, and field technicians during project turnover. Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, engineers, property managers, and end users. Follow up on outstanding proposals and negotiate projects. Identify opportunities for service agreements, upgrades, and energy-saving solutions. Maintain accurate sales records and forecasting. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC Controls or Building Automation experience. Experience estimating BAS or controls projects. Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, and pumps. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Experience Experience with one or more of the following platforms: Niagara / Tridium (strongly preferred) Johnson Controls Siemens Honeywell Automated Logic Carrier i-Vu Trane Controls BACnet and Modbus systems
