Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a motivated Junior Telecommunications Estimator / Designer to join our team supporting government agencies and government contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in telecommunications design, estimating, and infrastructure planning while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

This is primarily a remote, technical, non-client-facing position . Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Sterling, VA to support occasional office meetings, site visits, and project requirements as needed. Responsibilities Assist in developing cost estimates for telecommunications infrastructure projects. Support the preparation of telecommunications system designs, drawings, and project documentation. Perform quantity takeoffs and material counts from drawings and specifications. Review project plans, statements of work, and technical requirements. Assist with structured cabling, fiber optic, and pathway infrastructure designs. Support proposal development and project planning activities. Coordinate with project managers, designers, and operations teams. Learn and apply BICSI, TIA, and industry best practices. Maintain organized project documentation and records. Required Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in telecommunications, low-voltage systems, construction estimating, design, engineering support, or a related field. Basic understanding of structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must reside in the Sterling, VA area or within a reasonable commuting distance. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio, Revit, or similar software. Familiarity with BICSI and TIA standards. Experience supporting government, federal, or government-contractor projects. Interest in pursuing RCDD certification . Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
