This person will help review plans and figure out quantities for things like concrete, rebar, footings, slabs, block, anchor bolts, J-bolts, straps, excavation, grading, and similar items. Our owner will still review everything before ordering, pricing, or scheduling. We are mainly looking for someone who can help pull the numbers from the plans so we can plan jobs more accurately. We use Bluebeam for plans. We also use Dropbox to organize project files and Buildertrend for project tracking. This is a part-time/contract position to start. Most of the work can be done remotely, but Arizona or Phoenix-area construction experience is preferred. Duties Review residential construction plans Use Bluebeam to measure and mark up plans Prepare material quantity lists for concrete, rebar, block, footings, slabs, excavation, grading, anchor bolts, J-bolts, straps, and similar items Point out missing information, unclear details, or questions in the plans Save and organize takeoff notes, markups, and reports in Dropbox Help update project information in Buildertrend when needed Communicate clearly with the owner/project team before materials are ordered Help us improve our takeoff and estimating process over time What We Are Looking For Someone who knows how to read construction plans Experience with residential construction is preferred Experience with concrete, rebar, block, footings, slabs, and site work is a big plus Bluebeam experience is preferred Dropbox or Buildertrend experience is a plus, but not required Must be detail-oriented and organized Must be able to explain how they came up with the quantities Must be reliable and able to work part-time on a flexible schedule This could be a good fit for a former superintendent, estimator, project manager, construction management student/graduate, or someone with strong plan reading and takeoff experience. Important Note This is not a full-time project manager position. This is also not someone who will replace the owner's final review. The main job is to help read plans, measure quantities, and prepare simple material breakdowns. Pay $30-$45 per hour depending on experience. Schedule Part-time / contract to start. Around 10-20 hours per week depending on project workload.
