Sheet Metal Estimator

R2 Fabrication and Installation (R2 Fab) has been serving the sheet metal needs of the Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding areas since 2004. R2 Fab is currently looking for a qualified, experienced sheet metal estimator. The candidate will provide quality, conceptual and final sheet metal estimates in a timely manner on a wide spectrum of projects to support the company's success and profitability. The candidate must be able to take-off and assemble competitive bids from site visits, construction bid documents including architectural, structural, mechanical drawings and specifications to generate sheet metal estimates for review and approval. The candidate must have expertise in HVAC sheet metal ductwork and general sheet metal. Field/installation experience is critical, shop experience is a plus. The candidate must be proficient in reading and comprehending blue print and specifications for a wide spectrum of projects including large commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, institutional, medical and hospitality. The candidate must be experienced in reading and comprehending the SMACNA Duct Construction Standards and have experience taking off and estimating projects up to $5 million. The candidate must be computer literate and have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Sheet Metal estimating programs, experience using Quote Express estimating software is a plus. The Essential Functions of the Sheet Metal Estimator include but are not limited to: Familiarity with the line of work and the building and systems; Review bid specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate; Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff and scope of work; Determine budgetary allowances, soft cost and qualifications; Organize and manage multiple projects: and Support other department personnel as required. The candidate must have excellent attention to detail, the ability to focus and multi-task to meet deadlines, an ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and ability to QC their own work. The position requires a host of skills, mathematical, mechanical, reading, writing and visualizing. The position also requires that the candidate be methodical, analytical, strategical and realistic. This position requires the ability to work under pressure, with distractions and interruptions all while maintaining a positive and professional manner.
