Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Sitework & Utilities Estimator to manage the full estimating process from page turn through bid submission and follow-up, including quantity takeoffs, subcontractor and vendor pricing, proposal preparation, and post-award turnover to the Preconstruction team. Responsibilities:

Review plans and specifications and conduct a thorough page turn before takeoff. Prepare comprehensive and reproducible takeoffs for earthwork, underground utilities, and related scopes. Identify required subcontractors and vendors and prepare and issue RFQs. Review, level, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing. Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, access, dewatering requirements, underground and overhead obstructions, and geotechnical information. Develop labor, equipment, and crew production rates for self-performed work. Manage multiple estimates while meeting bid deadlines. Prepare professional bid packages including scope descriptions, exclusions, clarifications, assumptions, and other proposal requirements. Communicate with customers, respond to requests, and follow up through the bid outcome. Finalize bid records and prepare comprehensive turnover packages following project award. Participate in internal turnover meetings and preconstruction meetings. Remain involved in subcontractor and vendor selection following award. Identify and negotiate buyout savings while following company bid-shopping policies. Maintain strong customer relationships and support project teams through closeout as needed. Senior Estimators will also help mentor and develop other Estimators.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including estimating experience, for the Estimator level. 10+ years of experience, including complex multi-phase sitework and utility packages, for the Senior Estimator level. Experience in heavy civil earthwork and utility estimating. Proficiency with AGTEK. Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid; B2W/Bid2Win experience may translate. Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Trimble Business Center. Strong knowledge of earthwork, storm drainage, water and sewer, base, and paving. Ability to develop accurate and competitive estimates. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites for site visits and pre-bid meetings. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is desired; equivalent field and estimating experience may be considered.
