Job Description

Mechanical EstimatorLocation:
Sioux Falls, SD (client is open to covering full relocation expenses)
Salary:
$100K-$125K base + bonuses + profit sharing bonusesWe're looking for a seasoned Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team and drive the bidding process across plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection projects. This is a high-visibility role where your decisions directly shape project wins, margins, and long-term growth.

What You'll DoLead and develop the estimating team while owning the full bid lifecycle from initial review through award. You'll review takeoffs and estimates for accuracy and competitiveness, conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings, and collaborate with vendors, subs, and internal teams to sharpen every bid. You'll also track actual costs against estimates, monitor market conditions, and continuously improve estimating standards, data, and procedures.

What You Bring5+ years of estimating experience in plumbing and HVAC, with deep knowledge of construction estimating principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital takeoff software is required. Autobid experience is a plus. A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, though equivalent field experience in plumbing or HVAC before estimating will be considered.

What to ExpectThis is primarily an office-based role with regular fieldwork, including site visits involving walking on uneven terrain and exposure to varying weather conditions. All candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
