Job Description

Pay:
Hourly or Salary (DOE)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (occasional OT) We are seeking a detail‑oriented Estimator to support quoting for shop, fabrication, machining, and field projects. This role works closely with senior estimators, project management, logistics, and technical services to prepare accurate, timely proposals. Position Overview The Estimator receives RFQs, breaks down project requirements, gathers vendor pricing, and builds complete cost estimates using internal spreadsheets and guidance from senior team members. This is a great opportunity for someone with an estimating background who wants long‑term growth into project management. Key Responsibilities Receive and review RFQs; abstract scope and requirements Work with senior estimators (Steve, Barny) and Technical Services to develop quotes Gather vendor quotes for equipment, materials, and services Coordinate with the Logistics Clerk to organize outside vendor pricing Work with the Project Manager to determine labor hours, crew days, per diem, and rate calculations Enter all data into company estimating spreadsheets for final pricing Communicate with customers to clarify scope and send completed quotes Support estimating for all job types: shop work, fabrication, machining, and field projects Occasionally travel to job sites for one‑day visits to review project conditions (future need) Required Qualifications Estimating experience (any industry) Strong attention to detail and ability to break down scopes Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic office software Ability to learn internal processes and estimating tools Self‑motivated, able to work independently without micromanagement Preferred (Not Required) Welding, fabrication, or mechanical background Experience with scheduling tools (Microsoft Project) Ability to read drawings/prints (a plus, not a requirement) Engineering degree is not required Growth Opportunities Advancement into Sr. level Estimator role Pathway into Project Management Exposure to both shop and field operations
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
Hourly or salary depending on experience
Hours:
40 hours/week, occasional overtime during heavy proposal periods
PTO:
Negotiable; hourly employees accrue 6 hours/month in year one, 10 hours/month after year one, and 4 weeks at 5 years 401(k): Available PTO carryover or buy‑back options may be available depending on company policy Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
