Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Advance your clinical career in a dynamic, high-acuity surgical setting as a skilled First Assist Technologist. This contract position offers 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p) with varying days each week, based on department needs (no block scheduling). Upcoming start dates are 6/1, 6/15, 6/22, and 6/29. Please note, there will be no orientation on 6/8.
Key Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years' recent operating room experience, including prior travel assignments Valid Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist (CST-FA) certification through NBSTA, documented at submission Scrub experience is essential Proficient First Assist skills in a diverse surgical environment Thorough skills in orthopedics, ortho spine, abdominal robotics, and plastics Previous experience in a large hospital or trauma center strongly preferred Must reside greater than 75 miles away from facility (no local travelers) Experience with a variety of adult surgical cases: transplant, trauma/neuro, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, robotic, and hybrid room procedures Ability to float within the OR is required
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide expert intraoperative support as First Assist in a busy 56-bed OR serving in- and out-patients Scrub and assist on all case types, contributing to excellent surgical outcomes Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient safety Adapt swiftly in a Level 1 trauma environment with broad surgical specialties Maintain up-to-date certification and compliance throughout the assignment This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a highly skilled perioperative team in a large, advanced environment.
