Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing electrical contracting team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and mission-critical projects. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of electrical systems, estimating software, takeoff procedures, and value engineering. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects. Review plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents. Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Develop labor, equipment, and material cost analyses. Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions. Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and field personnel. Maintain accurate bid records and estimating databases. Assist in project handoff following contract award. Qualifications 5+ years of electrical estimating experience preferred. Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems. Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar platforms. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of NEC codes and industry standards. Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Preferred Experience Design-build and negotiated project estimating. Healthcare, data center, manufacturing, or institutional project experience. Value engineering and conceptual budgeting.
