Job Summary:
The
ESTIMATOR
is responsible for analyzing construction projects, preparing accurate cost estimates, and working closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to determine the materials, labor, and equipment needed. The Estimator also reviews project plans and specifications, conducts site visits, and gathers data to calculate project costs, providing reliable and competitive bids that meet client requirements and ensure profitability for the company.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans and specifications Obtain pricing and quotes for materials and services Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost analysis Prepare detailed cost estimates Review project risks and opportunities Identify value engineering options Optimize project costs Present and defend cost estimates to stakeholders Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors Maintain updated cost databases and pricing information Monitor and track project costs, changes, and variances Provide ongoing cost analysis and support during project execution Stay current on industry trends, pricing, and market conditions Use industry knowledge to inform cost estimates and bidding strategies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
STRONG PROCORE
knowledge and application. Strong analytical and mathematical skills and proficiency in estimating software and tools Excellent communication and negotiation abilities Attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Understanding of project management principles and construction processes
Education and Experience:
2-year degree/or equivalent work experience, or a combination of both in Construction Management, Refrigeration Engineering, HVACR, or related field 2-years of experience in estimating (HVACR, Construction, or related field) Knowledge of construction methods, HVACR, materials, and building codes
