With decades of experience, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Corpus Christi office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of construction, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants to play a key role in winning meaningful projects throughout South Texas. Position Overview The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects, including traditional hard bids and Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) work. This individual will review plans and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor pricing, analyze project risks, and develop comprehensive bid proposals. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines. Responsibilities Prepare complete cost estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission. Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify project scope and bidding requirements. Perform quantity takeoffs and develop material and labor estimates. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and vendors throughout the region. Identify scope gaps, clarifications, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities. Participate in CMAR budgeting by preparing estimates at various stages of design development Utilize historical cost data and market pricing to develop conceptual and budget estimates. Coordinate with internal leadership throughout the estimating process. Attend pre-bid meetings and occasional project-related meetings as needed. Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while prioritizing deadlines and deliverables. Assist with bid day activities, final pricing, and proposal submissions. Qualifications Experience in Construction experience. Experience estimating public, municipal, educational, or commercial construction projects preferred. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems. Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates. Proficiency with takeoff software (Bluebeam, Stack or similar platforms preferred). Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills. Preferred Experience Experience with CMAR project delivery. Familiarity with conceptual estimating and design-phase budgeting. Knowledge of historical cost analysis and value engineering. Experience estimating projects ranging from several million dollars to large-scale public construction.
