Senior Estimator Dallas, TX Hybrid work $100,000 a year

  • Structural Steel If you're an experienced steel estimator who loves complex projects.
tight coordination. and building accurate bids that win work. this is the kind of role where your expertise truly matters. You'll work with design documents. coordinate directly with GC partners and vendors. and shape competitive proposals that set projects up for success. What You'll Do Develop precise material and labor takeoffs for structural steel scopes using drawings and specifications. Build clear, accurate cost models including materials, shop/field labor. equipment. and buyout items. Partner with general contractors to clarify requirements, timelines, and bid questions. Request, evaluate and compare vendor and supplier pricing. Review drawings for accuracy, scope gaps and changes that impact cost. Prepare written scopes of work inclusions, exclusions and bid qualifications. Manage estimating schedules, bid deadlines and follow-ups with GC partners on award status. Support smooth project handoff to internal PMs after award. What You Bring Five or more years of estimating experience in structural or industrial steel fabrication. Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings with accuracy and confidence. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with tools like Bluebeam or On-Screen Takeoff. Clear and professional communication skills—written and verbal. Strong analytical judgment and the ability to spot scope gaps before they become risks.
