Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing bid documents, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating, cost control, and project management principles, along with proficiency in industry-standard software tools. The Project Estimator will play a vital role in securing profitable projects and maintaining competitive pricing strategies. Duties Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents using tools such as Xactimate. Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and assist in the submission process to ensure accuracy and competitiveness. Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate terms when necessary. Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process to ensure estimates align with project goals and constraints. Assist in the evaluation of bids from subcontractors and suppliers to select the most suitable partners based on cost, quality, and schedule considerations. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and related documentation for future reference and audits. Support contract negotiations by providing accurate cost data and risk assessments. Contribute to cost control efforts during project execution by tracking expenses against estimates and identifying potential overruns early. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong background in construction management or related fields. Proficiency in Xactimate and other industry-standard estimating software tools. Solid understanding of construction site operations, contracts, pricing strategies, and project management principles. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost analysis and risk assessment. Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and experience working on or around construction sites is a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
