Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator with hands-on experience using McCormick or Accubid. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate has previous experience independently estimating commercial electrical projects from initial plan and specification review through takeoff, pricing, scope review, and final bid submission. Our company specializes in commercial electrical construction, with a significant focus on healthcare and medical projects for general contractors. This is a full-time, in-office position in Irving, Texas. Responsibilities Review electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to determine complete project scope. Perform detailed electrical takeoffs for conduit, wire, lighting, devices, equipment, feeders, distribution, and other electrical systems. Develop accurate labor and material costs for commercial electrical projects. Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, alternates, allowances, and potential project risks. Prepare complete, competitive bid proposals and submit bids by required deadlines. Review project requirements and communicate questions or discrepancies with general contractors, vendors, and project team members. Maintain organized estimating files, pricing information, and bid documentation. Participate in estimate reviews and turnover of awarded projects to project management. Assist with maintaining current material pricing and estimating databases. Required Qualifications Previous commercial electrical estimating experience Experience independently performing complete electrical takeoffs and preparing bids Professional experience using McCormick or Trimble Accubid estimating software Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods, materials, labor, and installation requirements Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and bid documents Understanding of labor units, material pricing, vendor quotations, and project scope Strong computer, organizational, mathematical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet bid deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience estimating healthcare, medical, institutional, or other complex commercial projects Previous electrical field experience Compensation $90,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience.
