Job Description

Electrical Estimator About this role: The addition of the electrical estimator position is an integral part of our continued growth. Our company focuses on the retail/commercial segment of the industry, both new construction and remodels.

Expectations:

Perform takeoffs using on-screen estimating software (Accubid Anywhere) Develop and maintain a positive relationship with vendors and customers Review and evaluate project plans, specifications, schedules, and other bid documents to identify what is needed to complete an estimate. Exhibit good time management skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Prepare detailed proposals and engage clients post-bid to ensure accurate forecasting of potential awards. Attend pre-bid or team scope to review meetings and understand the complete scope of work required, with sometimes limited information. Notify and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on select bid packages. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Review vendors' bills of materials and subcontractors' scope letters for accuracy. Complete change order estimates for awarded projects. Work as a team with other estimators, company divisions, and departments within the company. Attend estimating/sales meetings to discuss bid status, and present/solve problems. Conduct project handoff meetings and field operations with the estimate after bid award through project closeout. Analyze bids and propose value engineer cost-saving ideas. Provide leadership, direction, training, and mentorship to Junior Estimators and work well with all team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 2 + years of estimating commercial electrical projects in similar types of construction as our core work

•commercial new construction and remodels Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness Full working knowledge and experience with Accubid software is required. Training is available for the Anywhere product as needed. Thorough knowledge of the commercial electrical field and familiarity with materials and construction methods. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Excel, Word) and comfort with spreadsheets and computerized on-screen takeoff programs. Knowledge of national, state, and local codes Produce accurate, timely, and competitive estimates from bid packages. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience and working knowledge of Accubid Anywhere Previous experience in field conducting electrician duties.

$115,000

•$150,000 for annual compensation. Working Conditions:

Work is performed mainly in office but, at times on construction sites in a variety of weather conditions. Shifts and hours vary by project but will include night and weekend shifts.
