Senior Estimator IOC Company - 3.8 Mission, TX Job Details Full-time 4 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Estimator - Heavy Civil, Highway and Construction IOC Company, LLC. is currently seeking a Senior Estimator for our South Texas Region. The Estimator will assist the Estimating staff with all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-off, pricing and bidding of heavy civil and transportation construction projects. This is an exciting, challenging role for which only the best will be considered. This position is in our Mission, Texas office.
Position Summary:
The primary objective of this role is to prepare cost estimates for large-scale heavy civil construction projects and structures. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the following key areas: Produce Project Scheduling Experience in TxDOT Type Projects HeavyBid advanced entry skills Have a proven track record estimating inHeavy Civil Road Work Construction Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist with quantity take-off, pricing and bidding of construction projects. Work in conjunction with Bid Team to prepare an accurate bid proposal. Consult with vendors, personnel in other departments or construction superintendents/engineers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues Subcontractor solicitation during bidding process. Analyze plan documents and other data to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to Owner. Establish the likely progress and completion rates, including allowances for bad weather and other unforeseen circumstances Work with the estimating team to produce project schedules Calculate a final figure for the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overheads and profit, and present a bid price Assist with bid closeout and final proposal preparations Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to Owner Assist with writing technical proposals Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend meetings, site visits, training, etc.Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with HCSS estimating software Establish complete estimate utilizing HCSS Heavy Bid software. Effective written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook. Good organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology Ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent interpersonal communication skills Strong problem solving and decision-making skills Strong organization and time management skills Very high attention to detail Ability to analyze data Establish and maintain job budget, correspondence, and job files for project records Interface with owner, engineer, contractors, subcontractors and vendors, to provide engineering and cost analysis as well as value engineering when applicable Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not requiredEducation/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required. 4 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction or 8 years combined field and project estimating experience in heavy civil construction required.Benefits :
