This position analyzes project plans and specifications, solicits subcontractor and supplier pricing, prepares detailed bid proposals, and works closely with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure successful project bidding and execution. Key Responsibilities Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Prepare complete and accurate bid proposals and submit them within required deadlines. Identify potential project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required. Clarify project scope by preparing and reviewing Requests for Information (RFIs). Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Coordinate with project managers during project handoff after contract award. Maintain current pricing databases and estimating software. Review completed projects to compare estimated versus actual costs and improve future estimates. Stay informed of market conditions, material pricing, labor costs, and industry trends. Ensure estimates comply with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable building codes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience. Experience estimating tenant improvements, renovations, and ground-up commercial projects. Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings. Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and meet strict deadlines.
