Job Description

We're a growing commercial general contractor handling ground-up builds and major tenant improvements across the local area. We take pride in building solid relationships with subtrades, delivering quality work, and maintaining a straightforward, hard-working company culture. We're looking for an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team.
Duties Bidding & Takeoffs:
Lead quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial ground-up projects.
Scope Review:
Thoroughly analyze project plans, specifications, and scope documents to catch potential gaps, risks, or constructability issues early.
Subcontractor Relations:
Reach out to trades, distribute bid packages, answer RFIs, and compare incoming quotes to ensure complete coverage.
Proposal Delivery:
Assemble clear, competitive, and well-organized final bid proposals for clients.
Hand-offs:
Work directly with project managers during pre-construction to review budgets, sub contracts, and project transition plans. Experience 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial general contracting (ground-up, retail, office, or light industrial preferred). Strong ability to read blueprints, civil/structural/MEP drawings, and project specs. Solid sub-network and comfortable picking up the phone to negotiate or clarify quotes with trades. Experience with estimating software (Planswift, Bluebeam, On-Center, Excel, or similar tool). Self-motivated, attentive to details, and able to hit tight bid deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
