Job Description

Senior Estimator We are working with a well respected contractor to help them hire a Senior Estimator. The Senior Estimator is responsible for overseeing all estimating functions within the mechanical and plumbing division, providing leadership, accuracy, and strategy in the pursuit of profitable projects. This role serves as the department's technical and strategic lead, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and competitiveness across all bids. The company has an excellent culture!
Senior Estimator Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate all estimating activities and personnel. Develop bid strategies, review final estimates, and ensure accuracy before submission. Evaluate project risk and provide recommendations on markups, margins, and contingencies. Lead major mechanical and plumbing project estimates exceeding company thresholds. Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and suppliers. Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to the estimating team. Support business development by participating in preconstruction meetings and client interviews. Continuously improve estimating procedures, databases, and workflows.
Senior Estimator Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive estimating experience in mechanical and plumbing construction. Demonstrated success in leading estimating teams and winning complex bids. Deep understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, materials, and installation practices. Advanced knowledge of estimating software, Excel, and takeoff platforms. Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred. HOUAC49
