Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our plumbing and mechanical team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and supporting the bidding process to secure new projects. Your expertise in plumbing and mechanical systems will help ensure our projects are financially viable while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction projects and collaborate with skilled professionals across the industry. Duties Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates Utilize estimating software such as FastPipe and Bluebeam to prepare precise bids and proposals Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information that influences cost calculations Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to negotiate pricing and terms effectively Analyze material costs, labor rates, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes to establish accurate budgets Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and identify potential overruns Assist in contract development by providing detailed cost breakdowns and scope of work clarifications Skills Proficiency in construction estimating software including FastPipe and Bluebeam Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms while maintaining positive relationships Solid understanding of construction management principles, contracts, and project management processes Experience with cost control techniques and pricing strategies within the construction industry Knowledge of construction site operations and safety protocols is highly desirable Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and team members Ability to analyze complex data sets and produce clear, detailed estimates that support project success
