PROFESSIONAL ROOFING ESTIMATOR

Legacy Roofing | Clearfield, Utah Full-Time | W-2 Company Truck

ABOUT THE ROLE

Legacy Roofing is looking for an experienced Professional Roofing Estimator to join our team in Clearfield, Utah. This is a hands-on, customer-facing roofing sales and estimating position. You will meet directly with homeowners, inspect residential roofing systems, identify problems, recommend appropriate solutions, prepare and present proposals, discuss financing options, and confidently ask homeowners for their business. This is not a desk-only estimating position. You will spend significant time in the field meeting homeowners, climbing and inspecting residential roofs, developing solutions, presenting proposals, and following up with customers. The right person will be equally comfortable inspecting a roof and sitting down with a homeowner to explain what they found, recommend the right solution, discuss the investment, and close the business.

COMPENSATION PLAN

Training Period - First 90 Days

• $2,500 per month training pay for the first 90 days Ongoing Compensation
• $1,500 monthly pay with a minimum of $100,000 in gross sales per month
• Re-roofs sold at 40% margin or higher: 8% of gross sales
• Re-roofs sold between 33% and 39.99% margin: 7% of gross sales
• Re-roofs sold below 33% margin: 6% of gross sales

Repairs:

6% of gross sales

• Commissions are paid upon job completion
• Uncapped commission opportunity

• Company truck provided
• Company gas card provided
• Company iPad provided
• Work out of our Clearfield, Utah office
• Established sales and estimating processes
• Training and ongoing support

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Roof Inspections & Estimating

• Meet with homeowners for scheduled roofing consultations
• Carry, set up, and safely use extension ladders
• Access and walk residential roofs
• Perform thorough roof inspections and document conditions with photos
• Identify roofing, flashing, ventilation, storm-related, and other roofing system concerns
• Determine when a repair or full roof replacement is appropriate
• Take accurate measurements and document job details
• Prepare accurate roofing estimates and proposals
• Maintain complete photos, measurements, notes, proposals, and customer information in our CRM Homeowner Consultations & Sales
• Explain roofing problems and inspection findings clearly to homeowners
• Recommend appropriate roofing solutions based on the condition of the home
• Explain roofing systems, materials, warranties, and project expectations
• Present roofing proposals and total project investment
• Discuss available financing options with homeowners
• Answer questions and address concerns professionally
• Confidently ask homeowners for their business
• Complete agreements when customers are ready to move forward
• Follow up consistently with homeowners who have not yet made a decision
• Build trust with customers through professional, consultative communication Project Handoff
• Communicate accurate job information to the Legacy Roofing team after a project is sold
• Make sure photos, measurements, selections, notes, and other project details are properly documented
• Help ensure a smooth transition from the sales and estimating process to production

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Roofing, construction, in-home sales, home improvement, or other consultative sales experience strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable carrying, setting up, and climbing extension ladders
• Must be comfortable accessing and walking residential roofs
• Must be able to work outdoors in Utah weather conditions
• Must be comfortable meeting homeowners inside their homes
• Must be able to inspect a roofing system and clearly explain findings to homeowners
• Comfortable discussing significant home-improvement purchases, pricing, and financing
• Willing and able to directly ask homeowners for their business
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Ability to follow up consistently and manage opportunities without being reminded
• Organized and accurate with photos, measurements, notes, proposals, and CRM documentation
• Comfortable using an iPad, smartphone, computer, CRM, email, and estimating software
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and accountable for results
• Coachable and willing to follow Legacy Roofing's established sales and estimating standards

OUR SALES APPROACH

We are not looking for high-pressure salespeople. We are looking for professionals who can inspect, communicate, recommend, and sell. Our approach is to understand the homeowner's roofing problem, clearly explain what we find, recommend the appropriate solution, answer questions, follow up consistently, and confidently ask for the business. You need to be comfortable on a roof and equally comfortable sitting across from a homeowner discussing their options and helping them make an informed decision.
