Job Description
Western Fence Company is a distinguished family-owned and operated fencing company with a rich history spanning over 78 years. Renowned for our commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and professionalism, we serve the state of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager who can wear multiple hats to join our team in Hurricane, UT-overseeing daily operations, estimating jobs accurately, and managing projects from bid to completion. This multifaceted role requires strategic leadership, comprehensive project management skills, and financial acumen to ensure operational excellence. The successful candidate will manage teams, develop business oportunities, and maintain high standards of customer sercvice while optimizing profitability. Responsibilities General Manager Duties oversee day-to-day operations, including sales, installation crews, and customer service Manage staff scheduling, hiring, and performance Handle budgeting, inventory, and vendor/supplier relationships Make sure jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to quality/safety standards Estimator Duties Meet with clients on-site to assess fencing needs and measure properties Review plans, specs, and site conditions to prepare accurate material, labor, and cost estimates Prepare and present competitive bids/proposals for residential and commercial projects Source materials, request vendor quotes, and manage project budgets Track pricing against actuals to keep margins on target Project Manager Duties Oversee projects from award through final completion Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and material delivery schedules Handle change orders and resolve on-site issues as they arise Maintain regular communication with clients on project status Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies Ensure jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to quality/safety standards Serve as the key point of contact between the company, clients and suppliers Skills Proven management experience witgh strong leadership capabilities in a construction or fabrication environment. Proficiency in Excel data analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting purposes. Solid project management skills with thte ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Expertise in business management strategies including strategic planning and business development. Excellent managerial communication skills for effective team leadership. Experience in sales development and customer service to foster long-term client relationships.
