Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and requirements. Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools. Manage multiple projects simultaneously by preparing comprehensive budgets and tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and technical documents to determine quantities and pricing. Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam for document review, markup, and collaboration with project teams. Maintain clear communication with clients regarding project scope, budget constraints, and potential cost-saving opportunities. Monitor project costs regularly to ensure adherence to budgets while identifying areas for cost control improvements. Review construction contracts and manage change orders to minimize financial impact on projects. Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate bid proposals that reflect current market conditions and client expectations. Skills Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools for accurate bid preparation. Strong knowledge of Bluebeam for blueprint reading, markup, and document management. Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans effectively. Experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Familiarity with construction management software like Xactimate for cost estimation purposes. Solid understanding of construction industry standards, contracts, and project management principles. Expertise in material cost estimating, quantity takeoffs from blueprints, and pricing strategies. Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis, budgeting, and reporting purposes. Knowledge of construction site operations combined with construction industry experience to inform accurate estimates. $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
