Job Summary:

The Estimator will research bid specifications and estimate costs of Signal, Lighting, ITS construction and services for assigned departments and projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepare Bid/Opportunity folders, including downloading project files, and setting up cloud-based ShareFile project folder(s)Request material and subcontractor quotes based on the customer specificationsAnalyze and select best available quotes for use in the estimating processPropose best Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items, specialty products and services that meet customer specifications to department managersUtilize Estimating software to input cost data and generate estimate reports for use by area managersPrepare labor, equipment and material costs for items based on specificationsPrepare bid documentation and submit to agency website or for standard mail servicePerforms other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Heavy Bid/HCSS software experience preferredSalesforce Software experience helpfulExcellent in Microsoft Office Suite particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel skillsExcellent analytical skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and oral communication skills

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in accounting or business preferredExtensive signal/ITS/Lighting experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
