Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring scope alignment, and collaborating with stakeholders to support preconstruction activities. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in commercial construction estimating and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive cost estimates and preliminary budgets for construction projects. Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine scope and solicit bids from subcontractors. Evaluate and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements. Identify potential risks and ensure all trades are aligned on project scope. Collaborate with internal teams and design partners to address RFIs and support design development. Facilitate bid day activities, including managing documentation and estimating schedules. Establish and nurture relationships with subcontractors to support project needs. Assist in project buyout processes and transition responsibilities to project management teams. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating or a related field. Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications. Proven analytical skills with expertise in cost evaluation and budgeting. Familiarity with subcontractor bid processes and vendor management. Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Excel. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
